From eight-year-olds in hotpants to teenage orgies, the sexualisation of our children is alarming. Where school nurses used to check for nits, 90 per cent now deal with sexual diseases. Yesterday the Royal College of Nursing warned of a new phenomenon, “daisy chaining”, youngsters having group sex.
What is most worrying is now youngsters are also aping the flirtatious behaviour they see on TV. Many of the pop and dance music videos show the kind of action that would have been in a porn film 20 years ago.
Take Britney Spears. She was sending out very confusing messages when she first appeared, claiming to be a virgin and making videos that were extraordinarily sexual.
