A plan to build an eco-village of up to 45 low impact homes made from natural and recycled materials went on show in Carmarthenshire on Saturday.

A group called Lammas aims to create a largely self-sufficient settlement with community centre, shop, workshops and hostel on 100 to 250 acres of land.

It is looking for a suitable site in south west Wales, with the village a “blueprint for sustainable living”.

It was launched at the Red Dragon Hall in Drefach Velindre.

The concept is to create 30 to 45 dwellings situated around a traffic-free central village green.

Each would have vehicle access to the rear, on the other side of which would be a series of agricultural and forestry plots as well as wilderness areas.

Paul Wimbush of the Lammas core group said: “It would be sustainable living at its cutting edge.

“The houses will be purpose built by the residents themselves and we envisage a wide range of materials and designs using stone, wood, straw, turf and recycled materials.”

Fighting for Christmas for you” was the message Harrogate BNP took around the streets of the town on Saturday (17th) packed with Christmas shoppers. The PA system played “I’m dreaming of a White Christmas” as well as other well known Christmas carols. Just over 2,000 leaflets were put out by the team, with John and Graham doing the lion’s share of the work, well done and many thanks for your efforts.

It was positive, positive, from all the Christmas shoppers, with the exception of the Asda car park attendant who said that he did not want “our type” in “his” car park. Well to avoid a confrontation we left, without pointing out that it is NOT Asda’s car park but a Harrogate council one!

The “machiologia” is the martial arts comparative study, from the Greek word “machia” which means fight. The experimental “archeo-machiologia” is an archeology finalized to the reconstruction of ancient athletic activities. In particular Ars Diminicandi researchers are trying to revive old Greek & Roman martial arts: classic Olympics boxing, wrestling and pankration. What makes possible a scientific reconstruction is the fact that “Homo Sapiens” is mentally and bio-mechanically the same it was from his appearance on the earth up to today’s date. Who wants to win a fight has to develop as much as possible movement efficiency. We can assume that present athletes’ “behavior” engaged in the same past ritual martial art, under the same rules, cloths etc.. technically evolves during time adapting to the competitive environment up to reach a stable point that can be considered equal as the same simulated. This is the thesis of this type of research being the necessary condition in order to prove that old athletics can be repeated and consequently scientifically re-constructed (only the one practiced for a long time by many people).
