It was alleged that Councillor Jack Sayers made anti-Semitic remarks during a conference he attended as a representative of Brent Council on 29 June 2005. Councillor Sayers allegedly said during the lunch break that “Jews run everything in Britain and practically run America”, and went on to say that he thought the lady who had chaired the conference that morning was Jewish. A member of the public overheard the comments and was offended by them.
