A row has broken out over a carnival parade after a group’s act has been deemed “disgusting and offensive” to Muslims.
The procession included a 17-strong group of men and women called “The Page Three Beauties from the Ramalama Ding Dong Times”.
They dressed in Muslim style burkas and carried a banner saying “Join the Kernow Mosk Dreckly, become a Muslim”.
And individual members also held up placards which read names like Miss Poppadomistan, Miss Sleptwithjudgeistan, Miss Hairyarmpitsrbad, Miss Slackistan, Miss Leatherselfgoabad and Miss Reallyamanistan.
As they walked the parade route through St Columb Minor, north Cornwall, they knelt down in mock prayer, using fake compasses to try to find the correct direction to pray to Mecca.
The carnival judging panel - including the mayor of Restormel council Pat Harvey and three other local councillors - shortlisted the group to win the cup for the best entry.

It’s time to start pointing out the PC Crowd. I reckon. You know, putting their pictures in the papers so we all got to know what a Brit-hater looks like?
A picture and a name. Fareed Ahmad, for example, we’d like to know what he looked like. We’d like to have his address as well, so that a few million furious Brits could let him know what they REALLY thought. To whit:
“If you don’t like the way we carry on here, why don’t you leave”?
But we all know old Ahmad’s not going to do that, don’t we? He’s got it cushy here, lecturing the native Brit on how best to suck up to a non-native chap like him.
Funny, isn’t it? They beg and plead to be allowed in and then, as soon as Europe says we can’t kick them out any more, it’s moan, moan, blame, sue, sneer, snarl and threaten.
As for the 6 students and the Reverend McQuillen-Wright, pack ‘em off to Ahmad land. If they told a bunch of Muslims that their behaviour was insensitive, disgusting and offensive to Christians, there’d soon be 7 less members of the PC Crowd to wag their fingers at the rest of us.
