Telegraph: British immigration officials in Pakistan have just 11 minutes to check each visa application fuelling concerns over security, The Daily Telegraph can disclose.
Officials are also not checking supporting evidence in thousands of applications from that country and Afghanistan – two of the world’s largest terrorism hotbeds.
And there have been no back up telephone interviews on applications since a controversial out-sourced visa system was implemented last year.
In October last year, a new “hub and spoke” network was launched by the Home Office which saw visa applications for a number of countries, including Pakistan, being decided by staff based in Abu Dhabi.
