Jail shaker for heroin addict
A HEROIN addict from Tower Hamlets caught smuggling a personal amount of the drug into Jersey has been jailed for three years.
The sentence imposed by the island’s Royal Court highlights Jersey’s hardline policy on narcotics. “Then sentence is extraordinarily high by UK terms,” said a spokesman for the Customs Department.
And once he has served his sentence Mokhan Ali, of Cottage Street, Poplar, will be handed over to English authorities to be tried for UK drug charges.
