A supervisor for fast food chain Dominos Pizza was sacked to make way for “cheaper Polish workers” an employment tribunal has heard.
Kevin Lewis, 26, from told the hearing that he was informed that his job at a take-away shop had been handed to new recruits who were paid less than him.
Mr Lewis, who worked at the Dominos Pizza outlet in Liverpool for 18 months, recalled how his boss Mr Talib Al Kadhimi informed him that he had employed four new staff.
Three Polish and one Iranian worker started working at the shop in London Road, Liverpool, in September 2006.
Mr Lewis, told the Liverpool Employment Tribunal that he was required to train-up the new recruits while his hours immediately started to decline Dark-haired Mr Lewis said: “I was working at the Liverpool store and had signed a contract giving me 35 to 40 hours a week.
