Detectives are hunting a gang they think are behind a string of shop raids following a burglary at a store in Abingdon.
Shopkeepers in the area have been warned to be on their guard after the crooks targeted Tura Newsagents in what is known as a ’steaming’ attack.
Six people walked into the Oxford Road store and some started distracting workers.
Meanwhile, a number of other gang members went upstairs and stole money, as well as jewellery, from a room above the shop.
The thieves spent 30 minutes in the shop and eventually drove off in what is thought to be a silver-coloured Ford Mondeo or similar styled vehicle.
However, before escaping, the group was challenged and one shop worker was punched by a member of the gang.

Last night, police released CCTV images of six people and said they believed they were responsible for a series of burglaries across the Thames Valley.
