A former UVF member, who was convicted of attempted murder in 1995, has been jailed for the manslaughter of a 93-year-old woman in Kent.
Maidstone Crown Court was told Colin McCurry, 32, attacked Ethel Pym two weeks after being released from jail for drugs and driving offences.
He attacked her in Margate after she got off a bus and stole her handbag.
She died three days after the attack from heart failure, believed to have been brought on by the stress of it.
McCurry, who is originally from Northern Ireland, had hit Mrs Pym on the back of the head, knocking her over, as she got off a bus.
She lay on the ground bleeding and unable to move. McCurry snatched her handbag containing £70 and ran off.
