More lies from the press over the weekend regarding the BNP.
Birmingham’s “Sunday Mercury” lied to its readers when it reported that the BNP is promoting a rally by the militant loyalist British Ulster Alliance (BUA) in the city.
The BUA plans to mark the 30th anniversary of the Birmingham pub bombings by holding a march and rally on November 20th and commemorate the 21 people killed in the attacks which were carried out by Irish-republican terror groups.
The “Sunday Mercury” quoted one Mr. Gerry Gable, who is the editor of the magazine Searchlight : “Both the National Front and British National Party support the BUA. The Birmingham rally is being promoted by far-right organisations across the UK. Many members of the BUA are also members of these groups.”
Press lies
As is so often the case, the press simply do not bother to seek out the facts and if a “Mercury” hack had actually spoken to a West Midlands BNP representative he would have learned that the BNP is not promoting the march in any way. While we have no problem with the expression of freedom of speech we consider that it is not helpful for outsiders to march in Birmingham stirring up old sectarian emotions at a time when the families of the murder victims should be left to mourn and commemorate in peace and quiet away from the unwelcome attention of the media which would accompany any kind of rally.
The BNP views this downright lie by the shadowy Searchlight organisation, which was set up by a convicted paedophile; the late and unlamented Harry Bidney, and their friends in the press as a deliberate attempt to alienate the growing Irish vote in Birmingham and elsewhere.
The BNP received about 20,000 votes Birmingham in the June Euro elections. Many of these votes can from men and women of second and third generation Irish origin. They have nothing in common with the terror gangs of either the Republican or Loyalist militants.
Both Irish and English communities under attack
At a time when Catholic churches as well as Protestant churches are being subject to regular arson attacks by gangs of young Islamicists, at a time when pubs frequented by both English and Irish folk are routinely targeted by the same gangs of young Islamicists it is very timely to put the internecine squabbles were left well and truly in the past.
It should come as no surprise to learn that the parent company of the “Sunday Mercury” are the very same Trinity Mirror Group which also owns the Glasgow based “Daily Record” which is probably the most shameless and dishonest title on the newsstands when it lies and misinforms its readers about the BNP.
