Scout leaders in the city celebrated the event by holding one of the largest investiture ceremonies ever held by a scout group in the city.
Leeds Grand Mosque, in Hyde Park, invested 15 Scouts at once into the troop in Leeds.
It is will be the first group in the city to have direct links with a mosque and possibly the first in the country, but youngsters of all religious faiths are being invited to join.
The group will be based in a games rooms within the mosque and will work closely with the Amal youth group.
Troop leader Lasaad Laouini, a former scout in Tunisia, said: “There has been demand for some time now where organised activities can be held and new skills can be learned. A new scout troop seemed like the best solution.

The British people deserve to lose their country because of their total apathy in letting their country to be overrun and destroyed.

The Scouts has always been a fine international organization but this should not be confused with multi-cultural as it clearly is in this case being presented as it is, as a cause celebre for the pant wetting liberal elite.
Don’t get me wrong, i’m not being critical of the Scout movement, I just think it would be better if these young people were becoming Scouts in their own muslim countries rather than Britain but if it instills even a modest amount of decency and social conformity in these kids it can only be a good thing. Far better they are directed toward civilized activities in the Scouts, however misguided, than the uncivilized rampages which have become the hallmark of muslim youth to date. Notwithstanding this is still an utterly disingenuous exercise in political correctness…
