In Spain today, war crimes charges were filed against four U.S. Presidents and four British Prime Ministers for their illegal war in Iraq. Named are both Bushes, Clinton and Obama. Named from Britain are Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. The charges were filed with Spain’s Audencia National just before the Spanish Senate acted to cut off Spain’s jurisdiction on such war crimes. The charges mention that all of the attacks on Iraq by American and British forces have been illegal, have constituted war crimes, have resulted in the deaths of approximately 1.5 million Iraqis and the widespread destruction of Iraq. What punishment would be appropriate for presidents and prime ministers convicted of knowingly lying to launch a war that has murdered 1.5 million innocent people? Many say the death penalty where allowed, or life in prison at hard labor without possibility of parole where not allowed.
