MOVES to push UK clocks forward by two hours in the summer time instead of just one are set to be debated in the House of Lords.
Lord Tanlow’s new Bill will go before peers in the House on Friday.
It is the latest attempt to bring in proposals to shift to Central European Time and provide lighter evenings and darker mornings.
Past attempts to extend the summer clock change have been strongly objected to by many Scots – especially in the north – who fear that the dark mornings will lead to more road accidents and damage the quality of life of many ordinary people.
But Lord Tanlow, a cross bencher born in Sutherland, wants a three-year experiment with the new time scale starting on October 29.
